Founder - Graham Fairhurst

GCF Operations is led by industry-veteran Graeme Fairhurst, a recognised specialist in oil operations, demurrage and claim management. With a career spanning major global traders and oil companies, Graeme has built a reputation for rigorous analysis, strategic recovery and operational excellence in one of shipping’s most complex disciplines.

From his early roles managing demurrage teams for financial and trading firms to supervising global charter party claims across crude and products deliveries, Graeme developed first-hand insight into the full logistics chain of the energy business—claim calculation, vessel operations, contract interpretation, charterer and owner negotiations, and ultimately, recovery strategy. He has led demurrage teams and operational groups in both the UK and abroad, delivering significant value for refiners, NOCs and trading houses alike.

Under his direction, GCF Operations offers a comprehensive service: technical laytime calculations, claims submission and recovery, dispute resolution support, and full-service demurrage management. Our methodology is founded on proactive prevention and strong documentation, allowing clients to reduce exposure as well as recover value. We partner with commercial, operations and legal teams to streamline workflows, embed best practices and deliver measurable results.
